About Us
Arroyo Pathways was founded from a shared passion for quality music therapy services and whole child care. We envisioned a space where clients could build meaningful skills through music, and where caregivers, parents, and support teams felt equally supported and informed.
Music therapy is most effective when the people surrounding our clients are actively involved, and we hold that at the heart of our work. Families and caregivers should clearly understand the goals clients are working toward and feel confident supporting those skills not only in sessions, but at home and in the community. This collaborative approach is how clients truly strengthen the neural pathways that help them reach their goals.
At Arroyo Pathways, we’re committed to working alongside every client and their support system providing evidence based musical care that fosters growth and meaningful change.
Currently, our therapists provide service spanning from the San Fernando Valley, Pasadena, Glendale, Burbank, and surrounding neighborhoods.
What is Music Therapy?
Music therapy uses music intentionally, in order to support non‑musical goals. This evidence‑based therapy is provided by a Board‑Certified Music Therapist (MT‑BC) and typically occurs once a week in ongoing sessions. Because every client's needs and strengths are unique, music therapy can look different for everyone.
At Arroyo Pathways, our therapists use preferred music, motivating instruments, and engaging musical experiences to support a wide range of developmental areas—including communication, sensory processing, emotional regulation, motor skills, cognitive flexibility, and more.
After gathering initial intake information, services typically begin with an evaluation session. During this session, we assess whether music therapy is clinically appropriate and identify the client’s strengths and areas of need. Following the evaluation, your therapist will connect with you to discuss meaningful goal areas and collaborate on a personalized treatment plan that supports continued growth through the use of music.
